How to connect Telegram proxy on iPhone, Android, PC and Web
Detailed instructions with screenshots for all platforms. Setup takes 10-30 seconds. After activation, a green proxy icon appears in the top-right of Telegram.
Connect Telegram proxy
Click the button below on your phone or PC — Telegram will open and ask to confirm adding the proxy. One click, nothing to configure.
iPhone and iPad
The fastest way is to open this page in Safari right on iPhone and click "Connect proxy" in the card above. iOS will open the Telegram app via the deep-link tg://proxy and immediately show a confirmation dialog.
If the deep-link doesn't work (e.g. you have Telegram WebK or a third-party client like Telegram X):
- Open Settings in Telegram (bottom tab).
- Go to Data and Storage → Data Usage → Proxy.
- Tap "Add Proxy", select type "MTProto".
- Fill in fields: server, port, secret.
- Tap "Save" — proxy activates, a shield icon appears in the top-right.
Android
On Android, opening deep-links is sometimes blocked by the browser, especially in Chrome 120+. If the "Connect proxy" button didn't work automatically:
- Open Telegram → Settings.
- Go to Data and Storage → Proxy.
- Tap "Add Proxy" → "MTProto Proxy".
- Enter data: server, port, secret.
- Tap the checkmark in the top-right to save.
- Toggle the switch next to the added proxy — "Connected" appears.
Telegram Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Desktop Telegram supports proxy via connection settings:
- Open Telegram Desktop, click ☰ → Settings → Advanced settings.
- In the "Connection type" section, select "Use custom proxy".
- Click "Add proxy", type — MTProto.
- Fill in the same three fields: server, port, secret.
- Click "Save". A "via proxy" indicator appears in the Telegram window title.
Alternatively: on the homepage of our site click "Connect" — Telegram Desktop will catch the deep-link and offer to confirm.
Telegram Web (web.telegram.org)
Telegram Web doesn't support proxy directly — it works through your browser's WebSocket, and DPI filtering on it works differently. If specifically Telegram Web is slow:
- Use Telegram Desktop instead of web — it will pick up your proxy.
- Or install a system-wide VPN — for example, MATRIX VPN with a 7-day trial.
How to verify the proxy works
- A shield icon or small green icon should appear in the top-right of Telegram.
- In Settings → Proxy, next to the proxy it says "Connected", not "Checking".
- Open a chat with a large media album — photos load instantly, no buffering.
- Send a 30-second voice note — it reaches the recipient in 1-2 seconds, not 30+.
What to do if proxy doesn't connect
- Update Telegram to the latest version. Older versions (before 9.0) may not handle Fake-TLS correctly.
- Double-check the secret. It's a long 56-character string, copy the entire string.
- Remove the old proxy. If you had other MTProto proxies, they may conflict.
- Check internet. The proxy requires basic internet access — it doesn't work "instead of" internet.
- Restart Telegram. After adding a proxy, sometimes a full app restart is needed.
- Contact our support. (at)ma3x_vpn_bot — we usually reply within an hour.
