Frequently asked questions about Telegram proxy

Everything usually asked about our free MTProto proxy with Fake-TLS. If your question isn't there — write to (at)ma3x_vpn_bot.

?Is this really free? What's the catch?
The proxy is completely free. No catch: we run MATRIX VPN — a premium service with plans from $1/week. The free Telegram proxy is how we showcase quality. If you need a full VPN for YouTube, Instagram and other restricted sites, try MATRIX VPN with a 7-day trial.
?Why does your proxy work when others don't?
Most public proxy lists circulating in Telegram channels run MTProto without Fake-TLS — the carrier sees the signature instantly and blocks. Our server uses telemt with Fake-TLS on the standard port 443: the traffic is indistinguishable from regular HTTPS, the carrier can neither block nor throttle it.
?Will the server crash under load?
No. Our infrastructure handles 50,000+ concurrent connections. 10 Gbps uplink, unmetered traffic. Even if load grows, we will add load balancing. Zero downtime since launch.
?Does it work on iPhone (iOS)?
Yes, the proxy works in any Telegram client: iOS, Android, Telegram Desktop (Windows/macOS/Linux), Telegram Web. Setup is the same everywhere — via the tg://proxy link or manually in Settings → Data & Storage → Proxy.
?Are you reading my chats?
No. By design, MTProto proxy has no access to chat contents — chats are end-to-end encrypted with Telegram keys. The proxy only forwards already-encrypted packets. We see connection metadata, never content.
?Can I use the proxy together with a VPN?
Yes. The proxy only handles Telegram, other apps are unaffected. If a VPN is enabled for YouTube or websites, the Telegram proxy keeps working as usual — nothing extra to configure.
?Where do I report problems?
